Billing Information
Since Traverse Anesthesia Associates, PC (TAA) physicians and staff are not employed by the facilities in which we practice, we bill on a fee-for-service basis for our professional services. Our charges are based on the surgical procedure, the anesthesia time required for the surgery and your health status. The hospital or facility will charge for the equipment, drugs and supplies used by our physicians and anesthetists. Questions regarding the facility charges should be directed to the individual facility.

Split Billed Services

Medicare and other health plans require us to submit two claims for our services, one for the anesthesiologist and one for the anesthetists. For these plans, you will see two charges from us for any balance due. You are not being double billed. We are following the regulations set forth by the insurance plan for billing for anesthesia services. Also, the total payment we receive for each bill is half of what we would receive if only one claim had been filed for your service.

Charge Estimates

We can provide an estimate of the charges that will be incurred for your upcoming procedure. However, we cannot guarantee the actual total charge because anesthesia services are billed, in part, on the length of time our anesthesia providers spend with you before, during and after your surgery. Thus, the actual charges for your surgery cannot be ultimately determined until after the surgical event.

To receive this estimate, please provide us with the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code, along with the surgeon’s estimate of the surgical time. This information can be obtained from your surgeon’s office.

Traverse Anesthesia Associates, PC (TAA) will submit an insurance claim form to the health plan provided by you or the hospital/surgery center. Once your insurance plan has paid, you will be billed for any balance that your insurance plan applied to your deductible or co-insurance. You will also be billed if you have no insurance coverage or if your insurance plan deems you not eligible for benefits. It is your responsibility to settle any accounts not covered by your insurance plan as soon as possible.

We accept the following methods of payment for our services:

  • Checks or Money Order
  • Credit Cards (VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover)
  • Debit Cards

When paying online or providing credit card information via your patient statement, please complete all the required fields on the form. No credit card information will be stored once the transaction has been completed.

Cosmetic Pre-Payments

When paying these services online, please include the account number listed on your prepayment coupon. Please contact our office if you have any questions - 844-788-0088.
